Lewd act reported on KU campus; police seek suspect

University of Kansas police say a woman walking on the KU campus Monday was the victim of lewd and lascivious behavior.

The woman reported that just before 11:30 a.m. she was walking east on Memorial Drive when a man in a white truck stopped to ask her a question and she saw that he was masturbating, according to an alert from KU police. Police said the woman is not a KU student.

The man drove away westbound, according to police. He was described as white, 20 to 30 years old with brown hair.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call KU police at 864-5900 or, to remain anonymous, KU Crime Stoppers at 864-8888.

KU’s fall classes are scheduled to begin in a week, on Aug. 20. Students begin moving into campus housing this week.
