Recruiting updates on Marques Bolden, Thon Maker and Jarrett Allen
Kansas University basketball recruiting
Lubbock, Texas ? Marques Bolden, a 6-foot-10 senior forward from DeSoto (Texas) High, who is ranked No. 16 in the recruiting Class of 2016 by Rivals.com, has visited KU, Kentucky, Duke and Oklahoma, and also has TCU on his list.
Bolden has said immediate playing time is a huge factor. …
• Jarrett Allen, a 6-9 senior forward from St. Stephens Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, recently told recruiting analyst Evan Daniels he is not close to a decision.
Allen has visited KU, Houston, Notre Dame and Kentucky, and is still considering Texas and perhaps others.
• Thon Maker, a 7-foot senior center from Orangeville Prep in Mono, Ontario, is planning on visiting St. John’s, Arizona State, Kansas, Indiana and Notre Dame.
ASU recently received a commitment from Class of 2017 forward Daniel Mading, who is Maker’s cousin. That shouldn’t affect Maker’s decision, considering he is an almost certain one-and-done.
Maker hopes to hear from the NCAA Clearinghouse about his chances of being eligible by April.
Maker has said he won’t attend college if his status is up in the air.
