Woman, girl injured in downtown Lawrence hit-and-run
A woman and a girl suffered minor injuries Friday night in a hit-and-run accident in downtown Lawrence.
About 9:30 p.m., the two were walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Massachusetts and 11th streets when they were struck by a single vehicle, according to Lawrence police Sgt. Ted Bordman. The vehicle then fled north on Kentucky Street, Bordman said.
Police were searching for a black, four-door, late 1990s model car with possible damage to the passenger-side fender, Bordman noted.
