Lawrence woman in critical, but stable, condition after Saturday accident

A 24-year-old Lawrence woman remained in critical but stable condition Monday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center after a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Kansas Highway 10.

Muneerah Al-Fayez, 24, was injured about 4:10 p.m. Saturday when the 2005 GMC Envoy she was riding in crashed into a bridge railing on K-10 near mile marker 10 near the eastern city limits of Eudora, said Sgt. Steve Lewis, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The driver, Fahad Al-Fayez, 29, lost control of the vehicle in snow and ice, and also was injured, Lewis said. He was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and released. His infant son, who also was in the vehicle, did not appear to be injured.
