A 37-year-old Lawrence man is in "satisfactory" condition at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka after being injured in a pedestrian-vehicle accident Saturday night in North Lawrence, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.

Fernando Foster was taken to the hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries about 9 p.m. Saturday after he was hit by a car near the intersection of North Second and Lincoln streets, Lawrence Police Sgt. Randy Roberts said Saturday.

A silver four-door Buick driven by Kansas University student Taylor Stephens, 21, struck Foster while Foster was walking west across North Second Street between Lincoln and Lyon streets, police said.

Kim Murphree, a Lawrence Police Department spokeswoman, said police are investigating the incident.

Need, is a strong word. I think the writer might have been trying to distinguish between the hospital condition report, and the patients real feelings. He might not be to satisfied with his condition.

The word satisfactory doesn't need quotation marks.

If occupation is important to the story, why aren't both listed?
