The annual play festival features nine shows that are written, directed and performed by local Lawrence artists, and features comedies and dramas.

YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling blends classical violin, modern dance, and “The Legend of Zelda.” Nerds and classical music fans unite. Stirling’s also been a finalist on “America’s Got Talent” and has played globally in such places as London, Italy, and Kenya.

The 2013 festival will include feature films, short films, panel discussions, live music performances, an experimental film and music video showcase, and a revival of the multimedia stage production “On Screen Offspring,” featuring new, original short plays by area filmmakers.

• “12 Angry Men,” Theatre Lawrence, 1501 New Hampshire St.
“12 Angry Men” tells the story of a jury in a murder trial that appears to be an open-and-shut case … until one juror has doubts about the evidence. Performances will be April 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, and the play is scheduled to be the final production in Theatre Lawrence’s current location, before it moves to its new building on Champion Drive near Free State High School. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. each day except for Sundays, when they will be at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets go on sale for season ticket holders March 25, and then April 1 for the general public. $16.32-$23.94.
