Flags will fly at half-staff on Saturday

Gov. Sam Brownback has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff on Saturday in honor of a 2nd Lt. Justin Lee Sisson, a fallen soldier from Kansas.

Sisson graduated from Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park in 2007. He earned a history degree from Florida State University and graduated from Ranger School last year before being deployed to Afghanistan, according to a news release.

A funeral for Sisson will be held at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery on Saturday.

He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Phyllis Sisson, and an older brother, Ryan Sisson.

Flags must be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down.
