NPR quiz show host to speak Monday at KU

The longtime host of National Public Radio’s current events quiz show, “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me!” — sharp-witted author, broadcast personality and commentator Peter Sagal — will appear Monday at Kansas University.

Sagal will present “Current Events: Why Satire is the Only Reasonable Response to the Times We Live In” at 7 p.m. Monday in the ballroom on level five of the Kansas Union.

His appearance is part of the Student Union Activities Student Lecture Series, which features noted journalists, politicians and commentators who are keenly aware of current events and how they affect our society. This spring, Sagal will host the new PBS Series, “Constitution USA with Peter Sagal.”

Monday’s event will feature a lecture, question-and-answer session and signing of Sagal’s first book, a collection of comic essays titled, “The Book of Vice: Very Naughty Things (And How to Do Them).”

Tickets are free for KU students with valid KU ID or $5 for the general public. Advance tickets are available at the Union Programs Box Office, on level 4 of the Kansas Union. For more information, call 864-7469 or visit suaevents.com.
