Lawrence woman pleads to burglarizing a home

A 27-year-old Lawrence woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to several charges stemming from an Sept. 28 burglary of a home in the 500 block of Florida Street.

Ashley Dawn Houk, as part of an agreement with prosecutors, pleaded guilty to residential burglary, theft, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

At Tuesday’s plea hearing, Houk admitted to entering a home and stealing a computer. When she was arrested later that day, Houk was in possession of marijuana and a drug-weighing scale, she said.

Depending on Houk’s criminal history, she could face up to 34 months in prison on the burglary charge.

Her sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 3.
