Kansas senior guard Travis Releford was selected as the Big 12's player of the week, the conference announced Monday morning.

Releford led KU to wins over Washington State (78-41) and Saint Louis (73-59) last week in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The senior guard averaged 20 points per game and shot 65 percent from the floor before being named the tournament's most valuable player.

The Kansas City, Mo., native also connected on 60 percent of his shots from three-point range while going 8-for-9 (.889) from the free throw line.

Releford is third on the Jayhawks in scoring this year with 11.8 points per game.

Oklahoma's Amath M'Baye won the league's rookie of the week honors.
