Road-rage incident near Baldwin City involving gun leads to investigation

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers are investigating an aggravated assault report related to an apparent road-rage incident Thursday north of Baldwin City.

Sgt. Steve Lewis, a sheriff’s spokesman, said officers were called about noon to the intersection of East 1600 and North 450 roads.

The driver of one vehicle went into a ditch. Then that driver approached the driver of a second vehicle in the area.

“The driver of the second vehicle displayed a gun of some type,” Lewis said.

The incident was still under investigation Thursday afternoon, he said.
