11 arrested in meth lab raid

? Reno County authorities made several more arrests than expected after raiding a methamphetamine lab because people continued coming to the home even hours after the raid, the sheriff said. Officers eventually parked a patrol car out front to deter others from showing up so they could finish their investigation.

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office arrested 11 people at the home, including several who arrived hours after search warrants were first served Thursday evening.

Sheriff Randy Henderson told The Hutchinson News that officers found an active meth lab in an upstairs room that was accessible only through a window.

“It was a separate back room that was hidden up there,” he said.

The Reno County Drug Enforcement Unit arrived at about 7:30 p.m. and dismantled the lab, not finishing the investigation until about 4:30 a.m. Friday. During that time, people continued arriving at the house.
