Winfield prison escapee captured, another still loose

? Authorities have captured one of the two inmates who escaped from the Winfield Correctional Facility in south-central Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Corrections said in a news release that 48-year-old Frank Crutchfield was arrested Wednesday by police at a home in Wichita. A Crimestoppers tip alerted them to his location.

Still missing is 52-year-old Robert Cook. The men escaped Saturday in a state-owned truck that was found abandoned the next day about 15 miles north of Winfield. Authorities believe they then stole a blue GMC Sierra with “City of Douglass” on the doors.

Cook has convictions for burglary and theft out of Harvey, Cowley and Butler counties, aggravated indecent solicitation out of Pratt County and an aggravated escape conviction from 1983 out of Sedgwick County.
