Emergency personnel responded to a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 40 west of Lawrence at about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Lawrence resident Lateisha Newman, 21, was driving west on the highway when her car left the road and entered the north ditch, rolling over at least two complete turns, according to Kansas Highway Patrol records. Newman was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with what were believed to be nonlife-threatening injuries.
The accident happened about five miles west of Lawrence, near the intersection with Douglas County Road 1029, which also is East 550 Road.
