A portion of U.S. 59 Highway, between N. 1000 and N. 1100 roads, reopened at 9:30 p.m.
According to a news release from the Kansas Department of Transportation, the section was closed as crews worked to clean up fuel spilled when two semitrailers collided just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
One man was flown to Kansas University Hospital with life-threatening injuries following the accident.

How could two professional drivers let a wreck like this happen? It looks as though one ran the stop sign or turned in front of the other. My prayers are with both drivers.

Actually, one of the semi's brakes gave out. Sometimes these things just happen.
