Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical investigators and Lawrence police were outside a central Lawrence residence Friday morning investigating the cause of a vehicle fire.

According to Journal-World reporting partner Operation 100’s Mike Frizzell, dispatchers received a call about someone throwing a flaming object onto a vehicle in the 1200 block of West 20th Terrace.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said the incident was not reported to officers until 7 a.m. although the fire allegedly occurred around 2 a.m. Friday. He said police were assisting fire investigators.

Investigators were at a residence near the intersection of West 20th Terrance and Mitchell Road, which is southeast of 19th Street and Naismith Drive.

"police were assisting fire investigators"....... correct information from the body of the text....contrary to the headline implications can be found in the body of the article...maybe read the article before writing the headline ???.......well, that is if the intention is to have an unbiased and correct headline...
