Jefferson County Attorney Jason Belveal said Wednesday a judge set bond at $25,000 for a 22-year-old woman accused of injuring a 2-year-old girl in Oskaloosa.

Belveal said he charged Lori A. Courter with aggravated battery, child abuse and child endangerment.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig said his office received a report Friday of possible child abuse in Oskaloosa, and officers arrested Courter after an investigation.

Herrig said the child, who is the daughter of Courter’s fiance, is hospitalized, but her condition has improved. Belveal said Courter’s preliminary hearing is currently set for 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Hopefully she is now the daughter of Courter's EX-Fiance. Prayers for the child's quick recovery!

There will not be a quick recovery. From what I've of the heard of the injuries, this child will suffer for the rest of her life.

$25K bail is way too low for the injuries this woman is alleged to have inflicted.

According to a first responder on the scene the injuries to the child are extensive and will last a lifetime.
