Woman, 20, dies after crashing car into pond

A 20-year-old rural Leavenworth woman died Sunday morning after she crashed her car into a pond east of Fairmount, which is about 4 miles north of Basehor.

The accident occured at 175th Street and Fairmount Road about 8 a.m. Emily J. Myers, 20, was pronounced dead at Kansas University Hospital, according to news reports.
