A Douglas County employee working near Lone Star Lake was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a tree fell on him Friday morning, said Douglas County Undersheriff Steve Hornberger.

The man was cutting down trees in the area, and one of the large trees didn’t fall how the workers thought it would, Hornberger said. The worker became trapped under the tree for a short time, but was freed by workers on the scene.

His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
