Distraction suspected in accident near Lecompton

A 38-year-old Perry woman has been treated and released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital after she crashed her vehicle Tuesday evening near Lecompton.

Sgt. Steve Lewis, a Douglas County Sheriff’s spokeswoman, said Rachel Robinson overcorrected her vehicle about 5:25 p.m. as she was heading north on County Road 1029 and struck guardrails near the Kansas River bridge. The accident report lists driver distraction as a contributing factor. Belinda Rehmer, an LMH spokeswoman, said Wednesday that Robinson had been treated and released.
