A 31-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of aggravated battery after a man was struck by a vehicle in the 2400 block of Arkansas Street, according to jail records and Lawrence police.
Douglas County prosecutors charged Christina M. Annis with aggravated battery Tuesday afternoon.
Kim Murphree, a police spokeswoman, said the man and Annis had exchanged words as she was backing her vehicle out of a driveway, and the man alleged she put the vehicle into drive and hit him in the knees, which propelled him onto the hood of the vehicle. He said that after he rolled onto the driveway, Annis drove away. The incident occurred at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. The man declined medics, but an officer reported the man did suffer injuries, Murphree said. Annis had driven to the residence to speak to a female friend, and the man was in the driveway working on a bicycle.
