Help the Sandy Hook Support Fund by creating a Smart911 profile

Douglas County residents can help support the Sandy Hook Support Fund by creating a Smart 911 profile online, according to a news release issued by Douglas County Emergency Communications.

For every profile created, which provides valuable information to emergency personnel about citizens who may need 911 services, $1 will be donated to the fund to help those affected by the recent school massacre in Newtown, Conn.

“As we watch their town grieve and attempt to move forward, Smart911 wants to honor the memory of those lost, as well as pay tribute to the 911 call takers and first responders who were called upon…,” said Scott Ruf, director of Douglas County Emergency Communications.
