Motor vehicle, license data conversion to affect county treasurer’s office

The state’s conversion of motor vehicle and driver’s license data to a new computer system will affect the Douglas County Treasurer’s Office.

From May 1 to May 8, the office will not conduct any motor vehicle business as the state moves to a new computer system. Thursday is the last day for online tag renewals, and no vehicle business of any type will be possible while the system is down.

As of the start of this week, 6,000 residents (those with last names ending in the letter C or D) have license plate tags that will expire April 30.

The treasurer’s office will still be open for tax collection. Second-half real estate and personal property taxes are due May 10.
