Lawrence police are investigating several auto burglaries that occurred early Friday in northern Lawrence.

Capt. Bill Cory, a patrol shift supervisor, said officers were called about 4 a.m. to the 400 block of California Street about a burglary in progress. During the investigation officers discovered several more break-ins in the area.

No arrests had been made as of 9:45 a.m.

Police took reports of six burglaries between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday on California and Colorado streets northeast of Sixth and Iowa streets.
