A 12-year-old Lawrence boy was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Monday night after he suffered minor head injuries in a crash near the Kansas River bridge, Lawrence police said.

Kim Murphree, a police spokesman, said police were called at 9:10 p.m. to the south end of the bridge on Massachusetts Street for an accident involving a vehicle and the boy, who was riding a bicycle. Police released no further information about the accident Tuesday because the accident report was not yet complete.
