Oskaloosa man taken to hospital after crashing motorcycle on U.S. Highway 59

A 57-year-old Oskaloosa man was taken to a Topeka hospital Thursday night after a motorcycle crash south of Oskaloosa.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Ricky D. Jones was injured when he lost control of the 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving north on U.S. Highway 59 one mile south of the city. Jones had entered a construction zone where the pavement was uneven and lost control of the bike, which overturned, according to the report.

Jones was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka, while a passenger, Patricia L. Jones, 56, of Oskaloosa, was not injured.

The crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. Thursday. A hospital spokeswoman said Friday the hospital was prohibited from releasing information about Jones’ condition because of Stormont-Vail’s patient privacy policy.
