Gardner woman, 24, hurt in one-vehicle accident east of Lone Star Lake

A 24-year-old Gardner woman was injured Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash just east of Lone Star Lake.

Sgt. Steve Lewis, a Douglas County Sheriff’s spokesman, said Tiffany Brink lost control of the 2002 Ford Escort she was driving south in the 700 block of East 800 Road, about 11 miles southwest of Lawrence. Lewis said of Brink over-corrected while steering the car, which veered off the road and struck a tree. Brink was taken via ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Lewis said.

The crash was reported about 6:15 a.m.

Belinda Rehmer, an LMH spokeswoman, said at mid-morning that Brink was still being treated at the hospital. At night, a nursing supervisor at LMH said Brink had been treated and released from the hospital.
