Eudora man pleads no contest to burglary charges
A 20-year-old Eudora man pleaded no contest Wednesday to three charges in connection with a series of burglaries earlier this year in Eudora. Joseph Klebenstein entered pleas to burglary of a motor vehicle and two counts of theft less than $1,000, according to Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson’s office. Prosecutors in July also filed several charges in connection with the burglaries against David A. Thomas and Leah D. Thomas, both 29. Eudora police said the defendants were linked to 18 burglaries. Both co-defendants are expected to enter pleas in the case later this month. District Judge Kay Huff is scheduled to sentence Klebenstein at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 9.
