Tour de France party to raise funds for Maple Hill girl injured in bicycle accident

Kief’s Audio/Video, 2429 Iowa, will host its annual Tour de France party Friday evening.

The event, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will feature big-screen televisions to watch the race — as well as refreshments, door prizes and analysis about the race from Tour de France experts.

In addition, Friday’s event will serve as a fundraiser for 13-year-old Mikal Bond, a Maple Hill girl who was seriously injured during a July 10 bicycle ride in Douglas County. Donations at the event will be forwarded to a fund that will assist with Mikal’s recovery.

If you can’t make Friday’s event and want to help Mikal’s family with her medical costs, donations also are being accepted through the Mikal Bond Fund in care of Community National Bank, 5431 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614. Donations also can be taken to any bank branch in Topeka.
