One person taken to Topeka hospital after motorcycle accident on Highway 40, near Shawnee County line
A 61-year-old Lawrence man was taken to a Topeka hospital Monday morning after a motorcycle-semitrailer accident on U.S. Highway 40 west of Lawrence.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Clinton C. Marker Jr. was headed west in his 2010 Honda motorcycle and attempted to pass the semitrailer in a no passing zone and struck the truck’s trailer. Thomas M. Clark, 28, of Lecompton, was the truck’s driver and was not injured.
Marker was taken by ambulance to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. The accident occurred at 7:10 a.m. about 1 mile east of the Shawnee County line.
