Woman injured in accident on I-435 in Wyandotte County

A 54-year-old Lawrence woman was taken to Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., just after 6 a.m. Wednesday following a single-car accident on Interstate 435 southbound at Parallel Parkway in Wyandotte County.

Helen Bringhurst lost control of her 1999 Jeep while crossing an icy bridge and eventually crashed into a ditch, according to Kansas Highway Patrol records.
