A 49-year-old Lawrence man who faced charges for a June altercation at the School of Business with two Kansas University public safety officers has pleaded no contest to two charges in the case.
Troy John Frank entered the pleas to two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and was convicted Friday, said Cheryl Wright, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.
Frank was accused of refusing to leave Summerfield Hall the night of June 27. During the altercation, officers eventually used pepper spray to subdue him. One of the officers suffered a minor injury from the pepper spray.
Frank faces a sentencing 9 a.m. Oct. 14.
