Prosecutors Friday charged Madison Taylor Halverstadt, 21, with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor battery of a law enforcement officer after she was arrested Thursday afternoon accused of fighting with a friend during an argument while they were drinking in the 400 block of North Crest Court. The friend had to be taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, and Halverstadt is also accused of spitting in a police officer’s face.
