Topeka — The National Federation of Independent Business is backing Republican Jerry Moran in the U.S. Senate race in Kansas.
NFIB officials plan to formally endorse the GOP congressman during a news conference Tuesday morning at the offices of BRB Construction in Topeka.
Moran represents the 1st District of western and central Kansas and is heavily favored to win. His Democratic opponent is Lisa Johnston, who's on leave from her post as an assistant dean at Baker University in Baldwin City.
Moran also has received endorsements from the National Rifle Association and the National Right to Life Committee.
