Rapper T.I. headed back to prison

Atlanta — A federal judge revoked rapper T.I.’s probation Friday and ordered him back to prison for 11 months.

The Atlanta native, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., was in federal court following his arrest last month in Los Angeles on suspicion of drug possession. He was on probation after serving 10 months behind bars on federal weapons charges.

“I think Mr. Harris had had about the limit of second chances,” U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell Jr. said, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

During the hearing, T.I. begged Pannell not to send him back to prison, saying he needed to get help for drug addiction. He told the judge he “screwed up” and pleaded for mercy.

“I want drugs out of my life. If I can get the treatment and counseling I need … I can beat this,” T.I. told the judge, according to U.S. attorney spokesman Patrick Crosby. “I need help. For me, my mother, my kids, I need the court to give me mercy.”

The Associated Press was relying on information from the spokesman because the judge closed the courtroom after it was filled and several media outlets including AP were not allowed in.

Rare Hepburn stamps up for auction

Berlin — A rare sheet of 10 stamps showing film star Audrey Hepburn smoking is expected to fetch at least $564,000 at an upcoming charity auction in Berlin.

The German postal service printed 14 million of the stamps, pictured above, in 2001. They show Hepburn as Holly Golightly from the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” with a cigarette holder between her lips.

Hepburn’s son Sean Ferrer initially refused to grant copyright for the stamps and suggested using another photo. The German government ordered the stamps destroyed, but a few sheets survived. The sheet being sold for charity is the one originally sent to Ferrer in 2001 for approval.

Five of the stamps, presumed stolen from the postal service, have been sold previously, with one fetching $173,000.

Suit settled against Hilton over movie flop

Miami — Lawyers for Paris Hilton and investors have settled a lawsuit in Miami that claimed she didn’t do enough to promote her 2006 movie “Pledge This!”

Court papers filed late Thursday indicate a settlement was reached last week. No terms were announced and final documents must be filed by Nov. 11. Hilton’s spokeswoman and an attorney for the investors had no immediate comment Friday.

The investors originally sued the 29-year-old actress and celebrity socialite for $8.3 million. But after a trial, a federal judge ruled they could not collect that much.
