Kansas Energy office awards nearly $1 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grants

? The Kansas Energy office has announced the award of federal grants totaling $920,500 to four government units.

The grants announced Monday use federal money authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Pittsburg State University, Cloud County Community College and the Dodge City school system are getting funds to install ground source heat pumping systems.

The fourth recipient is the Shawnee Mission school district in suburban Kansas City, which is getting a grant to install a solar photovoltaic system.
