Hawker Beechcraft workers to vote on contract

? A machinists union says its members will vote on this Saturday on a contract proposal from Hawker Beechcraft Corp.

The vote will not be for or against a strike. A simple majority is needed to ratify the contract.

The union told its members it planned to present its counter proposal to the company on Monday. It expected the company’s final proposal today.

Saturday’s voting comes as the state of Kansas has offered an incentive package to Hawker Beechcraft, which hinges on successful contract negotiations. The company reportedly also is considering an incentive package to move to Louisiana.
