Man dies in head-on collision after deer hit

? A woman’s collision with a deer in central Nebraska caused a head-on crash with another vehicle that killed a 21-year-old man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s office says the accidents happened Thursday morning on Nebraska Highway 74 about 6 miles south of Glenvil.

The Hastings Tribune reports that 54-year-old Carol Hagemann of Hastings was driving east on the highway when she struck a deer.

That crash caused Hagemann’s air bag to deploy, and her car crossed the center line of the highway.

Hagemann’s vehicle collided with the vehicle driven by Rocky L.K. Schriner of Guide Rock.

The sheriff’s office says Schriner was killed, and Hagemann was taken to a Hastings hospital with serious injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
