Escaped inmate back in custody

? An inmate who escaped from the Wyandotte County Courthouse is back in custody.

Wyandotte County jail administrator Jeffrey Fewell said 20-year-old Jeremy Comstock ran out of the courthouse Friday morning while he was being taken into custody on a charge of aggravated battery.

A judge had ordered Comstock to jail on the charge, which involved him allegedly punching a deputy at a previous court hearing.

Comstock escaped with his handcuffs still on. He turned himself about four hours later.

He’s the second prisoner to escape from the courthouse recently. One inmate walked away in August after he was left unguarded but was captured the next day.
