Osage County law enforcement officers last weekend arrested a 35-year-old Quenemo man on a Franklin County warrant for rape and other sex crime charges.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Curry said the suspect was brought to jail in Ottawa Saturday and is expected to appear in court Monday afternoon. He is charged with rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and criminal sodomy.

Curry would only say the alleged victim was a juvenile. He said sheriff’s investigators took the initial report and began investigating the case a couple of weeks ago.

He said the alleged acts occurred over an extended period of time in Williamsburg, which is southwest of Ottawa. Investigators had forwarded information to prosecutors who filed charges, which allowed a judge to issue a warrant.
