School days winding down for Lawrence seniors

Classes ending soon as final exams and graduations planned

Seniors in Lawrence are close to wrapping up their high school careers as some will finish with their classes as early as Friday.

May is a busy time for all Lawrence students as they take final tests, finish projects and prepare for summer.

Here’s a schedule of the remainder of the school year:

Friday

• Final day of classes for the Lawrence High and Free State High School seniors who are exempt from final exams.

Sunday

• Veritas Christian School baccalaureate, 4 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 1100 Kasold Drive.

Monday and Tuesday

• Final exams for LHS and Free State seniors.

May 21

• Bishop Seabury Academy graduation and stepping-up ceremony, 9 a.m. at the school, 4120 Clinton Parkway.

• Veritas Christian School graduation, 7:30 p.m. at Mustard Seed Church, 700 Wakarusa Drive.

May 23

• Free State graduation, 1 p.m. at the school’s athletic stadium, 4700 Overland Drive.

• LHS graduation, 4 p.m. at the school’s athletic stadium, 1901 La.

• In case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will move to Allen Fieldhouse.

• Project Graduation for all Lawrence graduating seniors begins at 10 p.m. at Abe & Jake’s Landing, 8 E. Sixth St.

May 24

• Last day of classes for Lawrence seventh- through ninth-graders.

May 25

• Last day of school for Lawrence kindergarten through sixth-grade students.

• Ninth-grade recognition ceremonies.

• Last day of finals for LHS and Free State sophomores and juniors.
