Lawrence police have released the names of two people involved in an accident Wednesday night.

Sgt. Bill Cory said Shakerah Underwood, 27, Lawrence, was riding her bicycle near the intersection of 34th and Iowa streets when she was struck by a vehicle.

The driver was identified as Rhonda Brown, 53, Lawrence.

Police believe Underwood was riding her bike east through the crosswalk, while the light in her direction was red.

The bicycle became trapped under the vehicle.

Underwood’s injuries were described as nonlife-threatening.

A citation has not been issued.
