Royal undertaking: Sunflower School stages 15th annual Medieval Feast & Joust

Sixth-graders at Sunflower School, 2521 Inverness Drive, entertained students, teachers and parents Wednesday with a Medieval Feast and Joust.

Before the battling and knighting, students dined on baked potatoes, chicken legs, bread, cheese, grapes, carrots, apples, pudding, fig newton cookies and vanilla wafers, sans plates or napkins, and drank ginger ale and root beer, all provided by their parents.

Linda Browning, fifth- and sixth-grade social studies teacher, says the 15th annual event tied in with a study of the Middle Ages in Europe.
