Charges filed in Greyhound bus attack

? Prosecutors have charged a Kansas man with one felony count of bus hijacking for an alleged assault that forced a Greyhound bus off a central Utah highway.

Santos Antonio Munoz-Gonzalez was charged Tuesday in 6th District Court. He also faces misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and trespassing.

Court papers say the 37-year-old Springdale, Kan., man tried to forcibly seize control of the bus on Monday. Springdale is in Leavenworth County.

Witnesses told police Munoz-Gonzalez kicked the driver in the head as the bus headed west on Interstate 70 near Richfield, about 160 miles south of Salt Lake City.

The bus ran off the road and through a fence. Six people suffered minor injuries.

A preliminary hearing date is set for Tuesday.

An attorney for Munoz-Gonzalez was not available for comment Friday.
