Lawrence man arrested after battering another

A 22-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early Sunday morning after battering another Lawrence resident.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman, police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Quail Creek Drive about 2:07 a.m. Sunday in reference to a subject with a serious injury. The victim, a 30-year-old Lawrence man, had a serious laceration on his head suffered during an altercation.

The man was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he refused medical treatment.

A Lawrence Police officer was then driving the victim back to his house when the victim recognized the suspect’s vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle and identified two subjects as suspects. After interviewing both, police arrested a 22-year-old Lawrence man.

He was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of aggravated battery.

Police are not yet certain exactly how the victim received his injury.
