Some design changes may be on tap for one of Lawrence’s taller buildings.

City commissioners at their meeting tonight will be asked to approve changes to The Oread, 1200 Oread Ave.

The multi-story hotel is seeking to add a moveable wall system to its public terrace areas to replace the use of canopies for special events. The enclosures would allow the terraces to be walled off during inclement weather.

Staff members said the overall minimum required open space is maintained with the changes.

Commissioners meet at 6:35 p.m. today at City Hall.
