A Lawrence man was hospitalized with fractured bones in his face suffered during a fight outside a local residence Friday evening.
According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Dave Hubbel, the man had gotten into an argument with his neighbor from across the street in the 900 block of Ward Avenue just after 9 p.m.
Hubbel said the neighbor punched the man in the face, flipped him onto the ground and continued to punch him several more times before returning to his residence. Hubbel said when police arrived the suspect admitted to the acts and was taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery.
The victim suffered fractured bones in his face and was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were non-life-threatening.
