Library referendum to be discussed
The idea of a public referendum for an expanded Lawrence Public Library will be discussed at a June 24 city study session.
Commissioners agreed to have a 4 p.m. study session at City Hall to discuss whether voters should be asked to approve a property tax increase to allow an expansion of the existing library.
At the study session, commissioners will be presented with a report from architects hired by the Lawrence Public Library Board.
If allowed to go forward, a referendum likely would be in November.
