Zsa Zsa Gabor in critical condition

Los Angeles (ap) — Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor was in critical condition Friday after undergoing hip replacement surgery earlier in the week.

Gabor had injuries to the right side of her body, including a broken hip, after she fell out of her bed last weekend trying to get into a wheelchair at her Bel-Air home, said Prince Frederic von Anhalt, Gabor’s husband.

Gabor, 93, initially appeared to be recovering after the hip surgery Monday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, her publicist John Blanchette said.

He said Friday the actress might have suffered a stroke during surgery, but von Anhalt said doctors have not confirmed there was a stroke.

Gabor, a Hungarian-born sexpot of the 1950s and 1960s, has to use a wheelchair after being partially paralyzed in a 2002 car accident. The wheelchair’s brake wasn’t on and it moved away when she tried to get out of bed last weekend, causing the fall, Blanchette said.

Rodriguez shows latest film at Comic-Con

San Diego (ap) — Robert Rodriguez loves Comic-Con, but the San Diego Convention Center is just too limiting. So the filmmaker decided to unveil his new movie, “Machete,” on a street corner instead.

Rodriguez showed about seven minutes of footage from the film at an outdoor party Thursday night.

Stars Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez were on hand. The film also stars Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Don Johnson and Lindsay Lohan.

The seven-minute clip was sexy, bloody and action-packed. In one scene, Alba puts out an attacker’s eye with a stiletto heel.

The writer-director said “Machete” is a film of and for the fans, who clamored for a full-length movie after seeing a trailer in 2007’s “Grindhouse.”

The film focuses on Trejo’s character, Machete, a renegade who’s fighting against corruption in the United States and Mexico.

“Machete” opens in September. Comic-Con continues through Sunday.

Lindsay Lohan’s dad charged for threats

Southampton, N.Y. (ap)— Actress Lindsay Lohan’s father faces a harassment charge in New York after his former fiancee says he kicked and threatened to kill her.

Michael Lohan is due in a Southampton courtroom on Aug. 18.

His fiancee, 27-year-old Kathryn Major, told police that she and the 50-year-old Lohan argued on Monday over a missed cell phone call at the home they shared on Long Island. Major says Lohan kicked and threatened her.

Lohan’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, says her client denies all the charges. She confirmed in an e-mail that the couple, who were engaged in April, have split.

Palin fiance Johnston to film music video

Los Angeles (ap) — Levi Johnston will make his music video debut as a lover whose romance is thwarted by his girlfriend’s disapproving mother, according to a Universal Music Group record label and Johnston’s attorney.

Johnston, 20, who is Bristol Palin’s fiance, has agreed to appear in the video with singer-songwriter Brittani Senser. The project is based on the song “After Love” by Senser, 26, an R&B and pop performer from Minneapolis.

Johnston recently become re-engaged to Palin, 19, the daughter of former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Bristol Palin, who has a toddler son with Johnston, has said her mother doesn’t support the couple’s marriage.
