Commissioners finalized an agreement allowing the Lawrence-Douglas County Bioscience Authority to lease space in the new city-county owned West Lawrence Labs building.

The lease for the building no longer includes a controversial option that would have allowed the local bioscience authority to purchase the building from the county for a predetermined price.

City and county officials earlier on Tuesday officially closed on the purchase of the building, which formerly was the home of Oread Labs near Bob Billings Parkway and Wakarusa Drive.
